ܚܒܝܒܝ ܠܐ ܠܟܠ ܪܘܚܝܢ ܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܦܪܫܝܢ ܪܘܚܐ ܐܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܣܓܝܐܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܢܦܩܘ ܒܗ ܒܥܠܡܐ

Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

ܒܗܕܐ ܡܬܝܕܥܐ ܪܘܚܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܟܠ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܡܘܕܝܢ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܐܬܐ ܒܒܣܪ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܝ
hy 'lh' mn bbsr 'th' mshykh' dyshwe dmwdyn rwkh' kl d'lh' rwkhh mthyde' bhd'
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,

ܘܟܠ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܘܕܝܐ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܐܬܐ ܒܒܣܪ ܠܝܬܝܗ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܠܐ ܗܕܐ ܡܢ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܝ ܕܓܠܐ ܗܘ ܕܫܡܥܬܘܢ ܕܐܬܐ ܘܗܫܐ ܒܥܠܡܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܟܕܘ
kdw mn 'ythwhy belm' whsh' d'th' dshmethwn hw dgl' hy mshykh' mn hd' 'l' 'lh' mn lythyh bbsr 'th' dyshwe mwdy' dl' rwkh' wkl
and every spirit who doesn’t confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God, and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.

ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܬܝܟܘܢ ܒܢܝܐ ܘܙܟܝܬܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܪܒ ܗܘ ܕܒܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܗܘ ܕܒܥܠܡܐ
dbelm' hw mn dbkwn hw drb mTl 'nwn wzkythwn bny' 'ythykwn 'lh' mn dyn 'nthwn
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.

ܘܗܠܝܢ ܡܢ ܥܠܡܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܡܢ ܥܠܡܐ ܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܘܥܠܡܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܫܡܥ
shme lhwn welm' mmllyn elm' mn hn' mTl 'nwn elm' mn whlyn
They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

ܚܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܢܢ ܘܗܘ ܕܝܕܥ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܫܡܥ ܠܢ ܘܗܘ ܕܠܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܫܡܥ ܠܢ ܒܗ ܒܗܕܐ ܡܣܬܟܠܝܢܢ ܠܪܘܚܐ ܕܫܪܪܐ ܘܠܪܘܚܐ ܕܡܛܥܝܢܘܬܐ
dmTeynwth' wlrwkh' dshrr' lrwkh' msthklynn bhd' bh ln shme l' 'lh' mn 'ythwhy dl' whw ln shme l'lh' dyde whw khnn 'lh' mn dyn khnn
We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn’t listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

ܚܒܝܒܝ ܢܚܒ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܡܛܠ ܕܚܘܒܐ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܘܟܠ ܡܢ ܕܡܚܒ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܝܠܝܕ ܘܝܕܥ ܠܐܠܗܐ
l'lh' wyde ylyd 'lh' mn dmkhb mn wkl hw 'lh' mn dkhwb' mTl lkhd khd nkhb khbyby
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God, and knows God.

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܚܘܒܐ ܗܘ ܘܟܠ ܕܠܐ ܡܚܒ ܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܠܐܠܗܐ
l'lh' yde l' mkhb dl' wkl hw khwb' d'lh' mTl
He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love.

ܒܗܕܐ ܐܬܝܕܥ ܚܘܒܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܠܘܬܢ ܕܠܒܪܗ ܝܚܝܕܝܐ ܫܕܪ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܥܠܡܐ ܕܢܚܐ ܒܐܝܕܗ
b'ydh dnkh' lelm' 'lh' shdr ykhydy' dlbrh dlwthn d'lh' khwbh 'thyde bhd'
By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

ܒܗܢܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܚܘܒܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܚܢܢ ܐܚܒܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܐܠܐ ܗܘ ܐܚܒܢ ܘܫܕܪ ܠܒܪܗ ܚܘܣܝܐ ܥܠ ܐܦܝ ܚܛܗܝܢ
khThyn 'py el khwsy' lbrh wshdr 'khbn hw 'l' l'lh' 'khbn dkhnn hw' l' khwb' 'ythwhy bhn'
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

ܚܒܝܒܝ ܐܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܚܒܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܚܝܒܝܢܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܠܡܚܒܘ
lmkhbw lkhd khd khybynn khnn 'p 'lh' 'khbn hkn' 'n khbyby
Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.

ܠܐܠܗܐ ܡܡܬܘܡ ܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܚܙܝܗܝ ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܢܚܒ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܢ ܡܩܘܐ ܘܚܘܒܗ ܡܫܬܡܠܐ ܒܢ
bn mshthml' wkhwbh mqw' bn 'lh' lkhd khd nkhb dyn 'n khzyhy l' 'nsh mmthwm l'lh'
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us.

ܘܒܗܕܐ ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܒܗ ܡܩܘܝܢܢ ܘܗܘ ܡܩܘܐ ܒܢ ܕܡܢ ܪܘܚܗ ܝܗܒ ܠܢ

By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

ܘܚܢܢ ܚܙܝܢ ܘܡܣܗܕܝܢܢ ܕܐܒܐ ܫܕܪ ܠܒܪܗ ܦܪܘܩܐ ܠܥܠܡܐ
lelm' prwq' lbrh shdr d'b' wmshdynn khzyn wkhnn
We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.

ܟܠ ܕܡܘܕܐ ܒܝܫܘܥ ܕܗܘܝܘ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܗ ܡܩܘܐ ܘܗܘ ܡܩܘܐ ܒܐܠܗܐ
b'lh' mqw' whw mqw' bh 'lh' d'lh' brh dhwyw byshwe dmwd' kl
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.

ܘܚܢܢ ܗܝܡܢܢ ܘܝܕܥܢ ܚܘܒܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܨܐܕܝܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܓܝܪ ܚܘܒܐ ܗܘ ܘܟܠ ܕܡܩܘܐ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܒܐܠܗܐ ܡܩܘܐ
mqw' b'lh' bkhwb' dmqw' wkl hw khwb' gyr 'lh' ts'dyn l'lh' lh d'yth khwb' wyden hymnn wkhnn
We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.

ܘܒܗܕܐ ܡܫܬܠܡ ܚܘܒܗ ܥܡܢ ܕܓܠܝܘܬ ܐܦܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܕܝܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܝܟ ܕܗܘܐ ܗܘ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܐܝܬܝܢ ܒܗܢܐ ܥܠܡܐ
elm' bhn' 'ythyn khnn 'p hkn' hw dhw' d'yk mTl ddyn' bywm' ln thhw' 'p' dglywth emn khwbh mshthlm wbhd'
In this love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world.

ܕܚܠܬܐ ܒܚܘܒܐ ܠܝܬ ܐܠܐ ܚܘܒܐ ܡܫܡܠܝܐ ܠܒܪ ܫܕܐ ܠܗ ܠܕܚܠܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܚܠܬܐ ܒܩܢܛܐ ܐܝܬܝܗ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܕܕܚܠ ܠܐ ܡܫܡܠܝ ܒܚܘܒܐ
bkhwb' mshmly l' ddkhl dyn hw 'ythyh bqnT' ddkhlth' mTl ldkhlth' lh shd' lbr mshmly' khwb' 'l' lyth bkhwb' dkhlth'
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.

ܚܢܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܢܚܒ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܘ ܩܕܡܝܬ ܐܚܒܢ
'khbn qdmyth dhw mTl l'lh' nkhb hkyl khnn
We love him, because he first loved us.

ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܫ ܢܐܡܪ ܕܡܚܒ ܐܢܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܐܚܘܗܝ ܣܢܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܗܘ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܕܠܐܚܘܗܝ ܕܡܬܚܙܐ ܠܐ ܡܚܒ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܚܙܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܕܢܚܒ
dnkhb mshkkh 'ykn' mthkhz' dl' hw l'lh' mkhb l' dmthkhz' dl'khwhy gyr hw hw dgl' sn' wl'khwhy l'lh' 'n' dmkhb n'mr 'nsh dyn 'n
If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
